Cheddar Stuffed Turkey Sliders

It’s summertime so that means pool parties, cookouts and lots and lots of burgers! Personally, I’m not the biggest burger fan but on occasion I will indulge in a juicy, delicious cheeseburger with no regrets, especially during the summer season!

Growing up, my mom was not the biggest fan of cooking with beef so we always substituted with ground turkey instead. Didn’t matter if it was taco night, spaghetti night or even meatball night, if it was typically made with ground beef, we were eating it with ground turkey. This is just one of the reasons why I decided to write this recipe with turkey instead of beef. The other reason being that ground turkey was all I had at the time so, win-win!

I have to say, though, I do want to try this once with beef. I can imagine that the flavors would be bolder and more developed, given all that extra fat. And if that’s your thing, go for it! I definitely will allow myself to indulge at least once.

As with all my recipes, the toppings are suggestions, so feel free to switch it up. Originally, this recipe was going to be called “Stuffed Turkey Sliders Two-Ways” allowing me to offer at least one other suggestion, however, not everything always works out as planned. But I am glad to have something to share, and that something is gooood, damn good! If you agree, I’d love to hear your thoughts, comment below!
